About Me

2012-11-22 19.41.58I am the third generation in a long line of artists, art lovers, and art dealers. From the art of my parents, to that of their friends, I have been looking at art my entire life. As a child, I was dragged to galleries and museums across the United States and Western Europe- doodling childish versions of the old masters in my own tiny sketch book. While I have never been a painter myself, I am an artist… A jewelry artist.

Drawn to the lunar, the feminine and the mysterious, I find beauty in natures imperfections. This beauty is what I strive for in my own work. I prefer ancient methods, and the most elemental forms of working. I find magic as I manipulate, melt, and pour the molten metal as I shape it into forms of my own creation. The elements of ritual, of intention, can be found in each of my pieces. I feel a connection with silver. There is a link that connects us to the women who first wore silver, on different shores, in ancient times.

  1. Dear Rosa,
I just found your blog and really like your daily blog picks. You’ve chosen many of my favorite daily painters. I have a blog as well and would love to be included in your blog roll. I am consistent in my posting but usually post once a week (with a few extras thrown in) rather than on a daily basis.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  5. Hi Rosa,
I finally figured out how to reply…THANK YOU for picking my coyote a couple of days ago! WHT A GREAT IDEA you have here with your blog! I will tell people all about it on my blog, as soon as I remember to! Your dad’s work is great, too, and I think you ought to “pick” his work whenever you feel his is worthy to be your favorite of the day! 🙂
If you thin about it, please correct the spelling of my name on your list of “blogs I follow”….vaughan is spelled “Vaughan” 😉 and my “v” is spelled with FOUR dots 🙂
    V….Vaughan

I signed up to get your mails 🙂
    THANKS AGAIN!

  6. Hi Rosa, What a great idea! I feel I have been missing out! Your Dad’s blog is great too. I will be back. I am an art lover and I have always considered the fact that I cannot paint or draw my little cross to bear so I am very happy to visit here.
