FRESH CUT FLOWERS FOR YOU!!

I’ve been tinkering around the house for the last few days. Cleaning, tidying, rearranging… And today, I’m in the mood for some fresh cut flowers! And the beauty of these flowers is, they’ll never wilt!!

POPPIES IN A MILK JAR by Lisa Daria

RED FLOWERS WITH APPLE by Kathryn Townsend

RED YARROW AND BLUE by Sandra Galda

So, what styles would you say these paintings are? Abstract, Impressionist, Expressionist?

  1. I’ve never studied art but I would say:

    * Not abstract . . . they are obviously flowers, not pieces of flowers jumbled together.

    * The first seems impressionistic . . . the sense of the flowers and the vase is there, without much delineation about WHERE the vase is located.

    * The last two seem expressionistic . . . real flowers and setting, but dreamy and ethereal.

I’d love to know if my “impressions” are even close to “expressing” the “abstract” nature of these paintings! πŸ˜‰

    Thanks, Rosa.
